I would recommend this business to anyone who wants to buy or sell coins or jewelry.
I called to get my fiancées rings resized and the owner answered very polite and answered all my questions quickly. He told me he had his jeweler there and was leaving at 1pm and if I brought the rings in he would have them done in under an hour. Very competitive price. Excellent service. Definitely would not go anywhere else in the DeKalb area for jewelry. He has been local in DeKalb for many years and I will be a loyal customer for many years.
I'd recommend shopping around a bit before settling on Zacks. I went elsewhere with some Tiffany jewelry and received much more than what was offered to me at Zacks ($800 vs. $300). Be prepared to negotiate a little bit, too. I'd also consider your market - Dekalb area vs. other areas like Chicago or New York where your jewelry is more likely to sell. As a young woman, I also wouldn't recommend entering this shop alone - the owner is armed.
I went in Zack's to sell some pieces because I needed some extra cash. The owner and his staff were super helpful and nice. They gave me a very fair price for my jewelry and treated me like family even though I had never even met them before. They clearly specialize in coins but are willing to work with you on many things judging by the array or display items.
I never post things online, but had such a good experience here that I felt something had to be said. I had a couple of pieces of gold jewelry that had been sitting in my drawer for years. I finally decided to take them in to sell. Once I arrived, the gentlemen who helped me asked how much I wanted for them. I told him $200 or so. He then told me that my stuff was worth more and would pay me $320. I was shocked that he would do such a nice thing. I was able to pay my bills and had a little left over. I would definitely recommend this place!
