What a great police force! I locked my keys in my car and they came and saved my family's day! Always had a greatv expirence here in Dekalb!
I was ass ended at a complete stop at Annie Glidden and Hillcrest today , called 911 and was put on hold then was connected to them and they told me they would send help 5 minutes later I see a police drive right by my accident and thought wow they don't even know I'm here ! And then 5 minutes later they drive by again and don't stop ! I call again and I was told they are very busy!! Real ! And was told it will be a while I wasn't a priority ok , so I wait and call not twice but 3 times ! After an hour they said they couldn't respond to help me !!!!!!! I was told by dispatch that they would send a NIU cop , Real ! I'm glad I wasn't severely injured !!!!!!! So I ask the NIU cop is this lady going to get a ticket ? And his reply was it would be up to his disgression , and I'm thinking I'm at a complete stop and she hits me ! The profession of the the police department completey sucks and don't have any regaurd for law biding citizens or the safety of others ! Have a safe drive when you go threw this town the police there have no order !

Honestly the department is fine. I've gotten speeding tickets and been less than thrilled about some response times, but you'll get that anywhere. I found the police here are genuinely helpful for the most part.
